FAQs

Q

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

Rates are difficult to explain until we sit down and discuss your vision for the production.

The who, what, when, where, why, and how are hammered out in these meetings. What are the variables? Will we need to subcontract for more crew, rent more gear? Do you want a drone? An epic boom shot? Will we also be editing the shoot or live event? Are you wanting to stream the live event? Will there be a band? Will the band have their own sound person?

To answer your question the average contract is between $10,000 to $25,000 with DEPOSIT of 50% (nonrefundable); This locks the date or dates and it starts a chain reaction for us to set up the team, secure gear, permits if needed, travel and hotels if required.

STANDARD INDUSTRY TERMS YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW

Mobilization Fee / Prep Day: This is the formal term used for large-scale corporate video or live events. It covers the time spent loading the grip truck, traveling to the venue, and setting up cameras, lighting, and streaming encoders before the cameras actually roll.

Kit Fee / Rental Fee: If the travel and setup primarily involve our specialized gear (like a streaming rack or heavy cinema packages), this line item covers the preparation, transport, and wear-and-tear of that equipment.

Load-In / Setup / Strike: For live events and streaming, schedules are budgeted by the hour or day. "Load-In and Setup" is billed for the hours spent running SDI cables, testing internet bandwidth, and setting up switchers. "Strike" or "Load-Out" is the fee to tear it all down.

Portal-to-Portal (Travel Time): For DP (Director of Photography) and crew labor, billing "portal-to-portal" means the client is paying the crew's hourly or day rate starting the exact moment they leave their studio or home until they return.

So you can see how it is very important for us to sit down and discuss all the variables.
